Remember when I posted about entertaining well? It was all about tips for caring for people and helping them feel appreciated & truly hosted.
Well, the genius friend who offered all of that fantastic advice also introduced me to this summer party all-star. As she said,
"We also usually try to make an interesting non-alcoholic option [at parties] because not everyone drinks, for a variety of reasons. And just because alcohol is a terrible idea for someone, doesn't mean they should have to drink water or Coke the whole time."
Make it for some afternoon guests or just drink it all yourself. You will not be disappointed!
Sally's Southern Sweet Tea
2L water
6 regular (black) tea bags (decaf is fine)
2-4 mint tea bags
1c sugar
3/4c orange juice
1/2c fresh lemon juice
Add the sugar & mint tea bags to the water and bring to a boil. Remove from heat, add regular tea bags and let it sit. Once it has cooled somewhat, remove tea bags and add juices. Serve with ice & fresh mint leaves.
{The recipe can easily be scaled; for larger events I would recommend doubling. You are only limited by the size of your pot!}
